Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It was last updated October 6, 2026.
Who We Are
The North Bay Association of REALTORS® (NORBAR) is a trade association serving REALTORS® and industry affiliates in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake counties. We operate this website at northbayrealtors.org, and it is the site this policy covers. Our older address, nba.realtor, redirects here.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, contact us at:

Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, apply for membership, register for a class or event, apply for a scholarship or grant, or fill out a form on the site, you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, brokerage or company, license number, and the details of your request. We keep what you send us in order to respond and to administer the program you asked about.
Member account information. When you sign in to the member area, the association's membership system confirms who you are and passes the site your name, email address, member ID, and membership status. The site holds this in an encrypted cookie for the length of your visit so you do not have to sign in on every page. The site does not store your password.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps server logs that record your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of each visit. We use these logs to keep the site secure and running well. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects aggregated statistics about which pages are visited and how visitors move through the site. The site does not run advertising trackers. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie the site sets.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Confirm your membership and show you the member-only parts of the site.
- Respond to your questions and requests.
- Process membership applications, event registrations, and scholarship and grant applications.
- Send you association news, compliance reminders, and event announcements. You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in each message.
- Meet our obligations as a local association of the California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). REALTOR® membership is held at the local, state, and national levels together, so your membership record is shared with CAR and NAR as part of that arrangement.
- Protect the site and our members from fraud and misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who We Share It With
Service providers. We work with companies that host the site, store files and images, manage our membership database, process forms, and send email on our behalf. They receive only the information they need to do that work for us, and they are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Member directories. If you are a member, your professional contact details, such as your name, office, phone number, and email address, appear in the REALTOR® Directory or Affiliate Directory on this site. This is one of the benefits of membership. You can update those details through the member portal or by contacting the association.
CAR and NAR. As described above, your membership record is shared with the state and national associations.
Payments. Dues and other payments are handled in the association's member portal, which is run by our membership software provider. This website does not collect or store credit card numbers.
Legal requirements. We may share information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights and safety of the association, our members, or others.
Cookies
This site uses one cookie for members. It is set when you sign in, it is encrypted, and it lets the site remember you from page to page. It expires when your session ends or when you sign out. Staff who edit the site use a separate cookie to sign in to the content editor.
With your permission, the site also sets Google Analytics cookies so we can see which pages are used most. The Cookie Consent Manager asks for that permission on your first visit, and you can change your answer at any time from the cookie icon in the bottom left corner of any page. Nothing is sent to Google until you accept. Our Cookie Policy describes each cookie and how long it lasts.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Because of that, the site does not respond differently to a Do Not Track signal from your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the member cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to other organizations, including CAR, NAR, the member portal, and third-party class and event registration pages. Each of those sites has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it. This policy applies only to northbayrealtors.org.
Your Choices and Rights
You can review and update your membership information at any time through the member portal, or by contacting the association at the address above. You can unsubscribe from our email at any time.
California residents may have the right under state law to ask what personal information we hold about them, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to be free from discrimination for making such a request. To make a request, contact us at info@nba.realtor or 707-542-1579. We will confirm your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time the law requires. Some information, such as your membership record, we may need to keep in order to provide your membership or to meet our obligations to CAR and NAR.
Children
This site is for real estate professionals and adults in the community. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The NORBAR Charity scholarship program accepts applications from graduating high school seniors, some of whom may be under 18. We use the information in those applications only to review and award scholarships.
How We Protect Your Information
The site is served over an encrypted connection, member sessions are stored in encrypted cookies, and access to the membership database and the content editor is limited to staff who need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.
Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will also let members know by email.
