Cookie Policy
Effective Date: October 6, 2026
We use cookies to help improve your experience of our website at https://www.northbayrealtors.org. This Cookie Policy is part of our Privacy Policy. It covers the use of cookies and similar browser storage between your device and our site.
We also provide basic information on the third-party services we use, who may set cookies as part of their service. This policy does not cover cookies set by other websites we link to.
If you do not wish to accept cookies from us, you can reject the optional categories in our Cookie Consent Manager, or instruct your browser to refuse cookies from https://www.northbayrealtors.org. In the second case, we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired content and services, including the member area.
What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device when you visit. It typically contains information about the website itself, a unique identifier that allows the site to recognize your web browser when you return, additional data that serves the purpose of the cookie, and the lifespan of the cookie itself.
Cookies are used to enable certain features (for example, logging in), to track site usage (for example, analytics), to store your settings, and to personalize content. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by other sites and companies (third parties) are called "third-party cookies."
Websites can also keep small amounts of data in your browser's local storage. Local storage works like a cookie but is not sent to the server with every request. We treat it the same way as a cookie in this policy.
What Type of Cookies Does Our Website Use?
Our website uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our website and to enable you to use some of its features, such as the member area and the sign-in process. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they cannot be rejected.
| Name | Provider and Purpose | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| nba_session | North Bay Association of REALTORS® (first party). Set when you sign in to the member area through the member portal. It is encrypted and lets the site remember who you are from page to page. | Until you sign out or close your browser |
| getterms_cookie_consent | GetTerms (first party, stored in local storage). Records the cookie choices you made in the Cookie Consent Manager so we do not ask again on every visit. | Until you change your choice or clear your browser data |
| __Secure-next-auth.session-token and related sign-in cookies | North Bay Association of REALTORS® (first party). Used only by association staff who sign in to the website editing tools. Visitors and members never receive these cookies. | Until the editor signs out |
Analytics and Performance Cookies
Analytics cookies collect information about how visitors use our website, such as which pages are visited most often, how visitors move through the site, and which devices and browsers they use. We use this information to understand and improve how our website performs. This category is only active after you accept it in the Cookie Consent Manager. Until you do, nothing is sent to Google.
| Name | Provider and Purpose | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (Google LLC), loaded through Google Tag Manager. Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits can be counted. | 2 years |
| _ga_WDM3YEW9ZQ | Google Analytics (Google LLC). Keeps the session state for this site's Google Analytics property. | 2 years |
Google Analytics reports to us are aggregated. They do not identify you by name, and we do not combine them with your membership record. Google's own use of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Functionality Cookies
Our website does not currently set any functionality cookies. If we add a tool that does, we will list it here.
Note: When you sign in as a member, you are taken to the association's member portal, which is run by our membership system provider. That portal sets its own cookies on its own address, and they are covered by that provider's policies rather than this one. Links to maps, videos, and other organizations open on those sites, which have their own cookie policies.
How Can You Control Our Website's Use of Cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies on our website. When you first visit, the Cookie Consent Manager asks for your choice. You can change it at any time by selecting the cookie icon in the bottom left corner of any page. Essential cookies cannot be rejected as they are strictly necessary to provide you with the services on our website.
You may also be able to set or amend your cookie preferences by managing your web browser settings. As each web browser is different, please consult the instructions provided by your web browser (typically in the "help" section). If you choose to refuse or disable cookies you may still use the website, though some of its functionality, including staying signed in to the member area, may not be available to you.
How Often Will We Update This Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect any changes to the cookies and related technologies we use, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
Each time you use our website, the current version of the Cookie Policy will apply. When you use our website, you should check the date of this Cookie Policy (which appears at the top of this document) and review any changes since the last version.
